Gould, Idonije Ready To Get Back To Football

(CBS) Now that the labor dispute is over, there is a tremendous amount of excitement -- and relief -- among players in the NFL.

Chicago Bears kicker and player representative Robbie Gould has been in the middle of the labor dispute for a long time now and he expressed satisfaction Tuesday morning at Halas Hall about the deal the owners and players agreed on.

"Besides the Hall of Fame Game, we've obviously been able to make that deadline (to not miss games), as well as a reach fair deal, which I think is great for football, for the growth of football, for the players and the owners, mutally exclusive," Gould said.

The kicker said players are ready to put the labor dispute behind them.

"Our guys are professionals," he said. "You don't come into this organization if you arent a professional ... We are going to be ready to play football."

Defensive end Israel Idonije echoed Gould's comments.

"It's exciting times for football," he said. "Just very excited, we're fortunate to have tremendous leadership for the owners, for the players, that were able to get everything done. Just looking forward for everyone getting back on the same team and playing football. For our city and having a great season and winning a lot of football games."

Bears Chairman George McCaskey also spoke at Halas Hall Tuesday and did his best to immediately the turn the attention to the product on the field.

"The thought should be what it takes to get back to the Super Bowl and win the Super Bowl," he said.
