Four Displaced In South Chicago Fire

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Four people were in need of shelter early Wednesday after a fire broke out at a South Chicago neighborhood building and spread to the apartment building next door.

Firefighters responded to the blaze about 1 a.m. in the 8500 block of South Marquette Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

The fire started in a vacant building and spread to the apartment building next door, police said.

No one was injured in the blaze, but four people were displaced, police said. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist with housing.
