'Elmer Fudd Bandit' Strikes Again

CHICAGO (AP) - The Elmer Fudd Bandit has struck again.

Not Elmer Fudd the cartoon character. Elmer Fudd the bank robber.

The FBI says a balding, middle-aged man who wears plaid flannel shirts and a baseball cap during heists hit a TCF Bank in Chicago on Monday afternoon.

In seeking the public's help, FBI agents frequently give robbers catchy nicknames to highlight distinguishing characteristics.

The FBI believes the white male with a resemblance to Bugs Bunny's on-screen nemesis robbed five Chicago-area banks this month.

In Monday's robbery on Chicago's West Side, he didn't display a weapon. He handed a teller a note demanding cash, received an undisclosed amount of money and then fled on foot.

Those who think they have information about a possible suspect are asked to call police or the FBI.
