CHICAGO (CBS) -- A northwest suburban Elgin man was charged Monday with grooming a 15-year-old girl.

Alejandro Plata, 41, of the 300 block of College Street, was charged with one felony count of grooming, according to a statement from Elgin police.

Police said they were notified Monday that a 15-year-old girl had been receiving Facebook messages from a man asking her to send him pictures of her genitals in exchange for money, police said.

He was issued a $20,000 bond Tuesday, police said.
