Child among 4 injured in crash after police pursuit in downtown Chicago

Four people, including one child, were injured in a crash following a police pursuit in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood on Friday night. 

Chicago police said officers were trying to conduct a traffic stop involving a stolen white sedan in the 600 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive when they deployed a tire deflation device just before 5:20 p.m.

Police said the white sedan continued driving northbound and hit a green SUV with a child inside. 

The 4-year-old riding inside the SUV was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital in fair condition. 

The 40-year-old woman driving the SUV was also injured and taken to Northwestern Hospital and was also listed in fair condition. 

After the crash, police said officers arrested the people inside the white sedan, including a 35-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, who were treated at Northwestern Hospital. 

Charges are pending as of Saturday.
