DCFS Investigating Death Of Berwyn Infant
CHICAGO (STMW) -- The state Dept. of Children and Family Services is investigating the death of a six-month-old girl Friday in west suburban Berwyn.
Madelyn Reilly was found unresponsive in a bed at her home in the 3700 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Berwyn, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
She was pronounced dead at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn at 11:38 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
An autopsy Saturday was inconclusive pending further studies, according to the medical examiner's office.
DCFS is investigating allegations of neglect against the child's mother, agency spokesman Dave Clarkin said.
The agency has no prior contact with the family and there are no siblings in the home, Clarkin said.
