Cubs Recall Yoervis Medina, Place Zac Rosscup On DL
(CBS) The Cubs have recalled right-handed reliever Yoervis Medina from Triple-A Iowa and placed left-handed reliever Zac Rosscup on the 15-day disabled list with left shoulder inflammation.
Medina, 26 will be available for Chicago's game at Cleveland on Wednesday evening. He had a 2.57 ERA in seven innings of work at Iowa after being acquired in a May 19 trade that sent catcher Welington Castillo to Seattle. Medina amassed a 2.82 ERA over the past three seasons out of the Mariners bullpen.
Rosscup, 27, is 2-1 with a 4.30 ERA in 23 innings of work for the Cubs this season.
