Cubs, LHP Rex Brothers Agree On 1-Year Deal To Avoid Arbitration
(CBS) The Cubs and recently acquired left-handed reliever Rex Brothers have avoided arbitration by agreeing on a one-year deal.
The contract is worth $1.42 million, CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman reported.
Brothers, 27, had a 1.74 ERA in 10 1/3 innings in 2015 with the Rockies, who traded him to the Cubs last week. Brothers has a career 3.42 ERA.
The Cubs have never gone all the way to arbitration with any of their players since Theo Epstein took over as president of baseball operations in October 2011.
