CTA Reroute Over After Red Line Train Stalls
CHICAGO (STMW) - A stalled Red Line train forced the CTA to reroute northbound subway trains to the elevated tracks for more than an hour during rush hour Friday evening.
A northbound Red Line train experienced a mechanical problem and had to be taken out of service at the Clark/Division station at 5:05 p.m., CTA spokeswoman Kim Myles said.
This prompted the CTA to re-route all northbound Red Line trains to the elevated tracks. Bus shuttles are also running to accommodate customers, Myles said. The shuttles were running north from Cermak to Clark/Division to supplement rail service.
By 6:20 p.m., northbound Red Line trains were back to normal operations, she said.
