Pedestrian struck, killed near Maine East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois
The Park Ridge Police Department said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Friday morning.
Police asked drivers to stay away from the area around Dempster Street and Potter Road after a serious traffic crash that is currently under investigation not far from Maine East High School.
Police said that just after 10 a.m., a 55-year-old man was struck by a car at that intersection. He was pronounced dead at the scene The driver that struck him did stop, police said.
Police officers and emergency crews responded to the scene.
An investigation by Park Ridge police is ongoing.
