Cops: Drunken Driver Tried To Enter Wrong Home
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) - A west suburban man is facing a drunken driving charge after allegedly trying to enter someone else's Naperville home and telling police he had "no clue" where he was.
Dustin A. Welch, 28, was arrested about 3:32 a.m. Thursday after allegedly trying to enter a house on the 1100 block of North Wright Street on Naperville's north side.
Written police reports showed Welch stopped at the house, walked up to the front door and began turning its doorknob. The commotion awakened the residents, who called police.
The reports indicated when police arrived and confronted Welch, he stated he "did not have a clue as to where he was or why he was there." Welch lives on the 400 block of Kensington Court, just east of Naperville's Cress Creek neighborhood and about a mile west of the Wright Street address.
