Consumer Reports Finds High Levels Of Arsenic In Apple Juice
Millions of parents give their kids fruit juices every day, but there's concern it may contain arsenic.
Consumer Reports tested 88 samples of apple and grape juice. They found 10 percent of the juice samples had arsenic levels above what's allowed in drinking water.
Most of the arsenic found was inorganic and the study speculates that sources could come from tainted soil.
For now, Consumer Reports is recommending parents avoid giving juice to babies under 6 months old and says children under 6 years old should drink no more than a few ounces per day.
