CHICAGO (CBS) -- Showers from Iowa are headed in our direction, although in a weakening phase.
New thunderstorms develop by daybreak Thursday, and storms may linger through noon. Heavy rain expected in the morning.
River levels and soil moisture content are both high, so localized flooding is possible.
The Storm Prediction Center has us under a "slight" risk for severe storms. This is especially true for the evening round of storms.
We'll have to see how the atmosphere recovers from the morning activity.
