Chicago Area Mom Killed In Wisconsin Interstate Shooting To Be Laid To Rest
(CBS) -- A Buffalo Grove mother will be laid to rest this Mother's Day weekend.
The wake for the woman mortally wounded as she drove home from the Wisconsin Dells last weekend was held at an Arlington Heights funeral home Friday evening.
Tracy Czaczkowski died Monday, the day after she was fatally shot on I-90/94 as she rode home with her family.
DEA Special Agent in Charge Dennis Wichern described the visitation for the wife of one of his colleagues as somber, serious and sorrowful.
He says it was also a celebration of the 44-year-old Czaczkowski's life, with pictures of her family.
Wichern says the family is extremely grateful for people respecting their privacy and donations to a Go Fund Me campaign for Czaczkowski's son and daughter.
Among those who gave are people who say they were on the highway Sunday when she was fatally shot.
Zachary Hays has been charged with her murder. Prosecutors say the 20-year-old was acting paranoid after smoking pot days before.
The fund had raised more than $94,000 as of Friday evening.
