Bulls starting to fill in their blanks

Not only did the Chicago Bulls unveil their top free agent signing of Carlos Boozer on Friday, they also announced the signing of free agent shooting-guard Kyle Korver to a  3 year $15 million deal. Korver fills the need that the Bulls had at the #2 spot on the court and has been known as a dead-eye shooter during his NBA career. Ironically, Korver and Boozer have been team-mates for the last few years in Utah and no doubt Boozer spoke highly of him and gave a glowing reference.  Then even later into the evening, the Bulls signed JJ Reddick to an offer sheet also for three years. Reddick is a restricted free agent meaning the Orlando Magic would have 7 days to match the offer but league sources say that's highly unlikely.

Boozer during Friday's press conference said the Bulls will not be intimidated by the Miami Heat. The Heat of course announced their own free agent signings of LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade. Boozer said the Bulls will come up with defensive schemes that will be able to stop anybody. Boozer said he looks forward to playing with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah and feels the Bulls will be able to compete with anybody.

General Manager Gar Forman speaking at Friday's press conference said additional signings should occur over the next week and mentioned the possibility of some players returning from last year's roster. Obviously Forman is referring to players such as Brad Miller.
