Boy, 12, Struck And Killed By Vehicle In Elgin
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 12-year-old boy was fatally hit by a vehicle Wednesday evening in northwest suburban Elgin, police said.
The boy was running across lanes of traffic about 6:15 p.m. near Route 20 and McLean Boulevard when a vehicle heading east on Route 20 struck him, Elgin police said in a statement.
He was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital where he later died, police said. No one else was injured.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
