This popular West Town restaurant is perhaps known best for two sandwiches. The first is it's gooey, mouthwatering baloney sandwich and it's perfectly executed burger. There aren't many options, but it's simplicity is a further testament to just how perfect this cheeseburger is. You can choose between one patty or two. Add egg or bacon if you'd like. That is it. You really don't need anything else. Other than their awesome fries and root beer float, of course.

Kuma's Corner
2900 W. Belmont Ave.
Chicago, IL 60618

No list of best burgers is ever complete without a mention of Kuma's Corner. Now with two locations, both Avondale and Boys Town, all the burgers on this menu are inspired by hard rock bands. Popular choices include the slayer which is a 10 oz. patty that resembles nachos more than a burger. Their burgers are so popular, due to the patty's crazy toppings. This head banging joint offers a burger of the month, and all beers on tap are craft brews.

Lockdown Bar & Grill
1024 N. Western Ave.
Chicago, IL 60622

Zagat's has named the burger from this Ukrainian Village restaurant the best in town. This prison-themed restaurant has also been featured on Check, Please! to great acclaim. Lockdown stands all on its own with its delicious burgers, most of which that are piled high with a great array of toppings. While you really can't go wrong with anything off the menu, start with their signature Lockdown Warden, which is made with leeks, bacon, shallots, garlic, and perhaps best of all, stuffed with Merkts cheddar and topped with fried leeks.

For a great burger with a wonderful array of options, look no further than this award-winning butcher and burger joint in Lincoln Park. The key to the success here is the grass-fed beef and other farm-to-table ingredients. Patrons have their choice of 10 different patties, as well as four different kinds of buns. That's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to options at this counter-service restaurant, because you can even choose your spices, with options ranging from Grandma's onion soup to curry coconut honey. With these kind of ingredients, expect to pay at least $9 per burger, depending on everything you choose to top it with.
