1 dead, 1 wounded in shooting at Wheeling, Illinois hotel
One person was killed and another was wounded in a shooting Sunday night at a hotel in northwest suburban Wheeling.
Police said, around 6:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired at MainStay Suites in the 8000 block of Capital Drive.
Officers found two male victims who had been shot. Both were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital for treatment.
One of the victims was later pronounced dead. Neither victim's name or age has been released.
The shooting remained under investigation on Monday.
