Wendy's Replacing Some Workers With Machines Amid Minimum Wage Hikes
DUBLIN, Ohio (CBS) -- Wendy's has unveiled a plan to offset rising minimum wage costs.
As fast food workers fight for $15 an hour nationwide, the restaurant chain is cutting back.
CBS MoneyWatch reports that Wendy's is replacing some workers with self-serve kiosks. It's a way for the company to save on labor costs as states like New York and California pass minimum wage hikes.
Some Wedndy's are also reportedly increasing menu item prices to offset higher pay.
