BPD: Fire At JFK Library Not Related To Downtown Explosions
BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Police are now saying a reported explosion at the John F. Kennedy Library is not related to the two explosions at the Boston Marathon finish line.
Federal and local officials are at the JFK Library where initially, a third explosion was reported around 4:30 p.m.
During an afternoon press conference, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said they were treating the JFK fire as if it was related to the two other explosions.
WBZ-TV on scene says a section of the building to the left of the entrance has been involved in some type of fire.
A large hole has been knocked through the outside wall of the library, WBZ-TV reports.
There is no word on if there were any injuries in the fire.
