Couple Lost In Danvers Corn Maze Calls Police For Rescue

DANVERS (CBS) - Navigating through a maze can be a tricky thing. Some folks in Danvers found that out Monday evening.

Police say they received a cell phone call around 7 p.m. from a family that had gotten lost in the corn maze at Connors Farm.

Closing time for the corn maze was 6 p.m. and the callers had a young child with them.

The callers, who could not find their way out, and found themselves lost at dark, got in touch with police and asked for help.

"We thought this would be fun. Instead, it's a nightmare," the caller told the 911 dispatcher.

Police officers sent out a K-9 unit to help track down the family. The dispatcher asked the male caller several times to yell out "Hello, K-9" until crews were able to track them down.

The 'missing' parties, who, according to the 911 call paid about $15 to walk the maze, were escorted to safety.
