Boston Marathon A Place For Proposals

BOSTON (CBS) --- Hours after completing the Boston Marathon last year, the bombs went off and life was put into perspective for Greg Picklesimer.

On Monday, he completed the Boston Marathon again and this time, proposed to his girlfriend Carla White at the finish line.

"After last year I realized the people you love and your life can be taken so quickly," he said. "I didn't want to lose that so I decided to come back and seal the deal."

Picklesimer spotted White along the finish line, got down on one knee and pulled a ring out of his back pocket.

She of course, said "yes."

"I've waited my whole life for him so this is the happiest day of my life," White said. "I'm glad he's safe and he ran well."

Around 2 p.m. John Volkman arrived on Heartbreak Hill and proposed to his girlfriend who was standing on the sidelines.

Jodi Nili, also an avid runner, said "yes."
