Day 24: Obama Celebrates Lincoln, Loses Commerce Pick

On his twenty-fourth day in office, President Obama honored Abraham Lincoln on the 200th anniversary of his birth.

"I feel a special gratitude to this singular figure who in so many ways made my own story possible – and who in so many ways made America's story possible," the president said.

The president also visited a Caterpiller plant to push his stimulus package, saying "what's happening at this company tells us a larger story about what's happening with our nation's economy -- because, in many ways, you can measure America's bottom line by looking at Caterpillar's bottom line."

And he saw his second pick for Commerce Secretary, Sen. Judd Gregg, withdraw from consideration over policy differences with the administration.
