Worst Call Ever....
So i am at home, watching the O's play and I see that Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga is throwing a perfect game through 8 innings. So i turn on the MLB Network, to watch the final inning. The 1st batter hits a shot to center field and Austin Jackson makes a Willie Mays type play. OUT NUMBER ONE. Then the catcher comes up and grounds out to short. OUT NUMBER TWO. Then the atrocity of all atrocities happens. Galarraga needs one more out for the 3rd PERFECT game of the year. Here's the pitch, grounder to first base. Miguel Cabrera throws over to the pitcher he covers first base and umpire Jim Joyce calls the runner safe. Replay shows the runner was out by a full step. Jim Joyce has made the worst call of his life. I feel terrible for Galarraga. How do you make that call? Even if its close you have to give that to the pitcher. Im sure nobody feels worse than Jim Joyce... But how do you make that call?????
