Who would've thought
Going in to the season, all the talk (me included) was that the Orioles finally have a veteran ace of their pitching staff. Speculation was that he wasn't happy to be here, but Kevin Millwood was a veteran who has pitched in MLB for a long time and should be a double digit winner. Plus, he should be a great influence on Brian Matusz, Chris Tillman, Brad Bergesen, and the rest of the Birds young pitchers. Flash forward to September 23rd. Millwood is 3-16, he has an ERA over five runs a game and he's given up 30 home runs. Meanwhile, Matusz, and Bergesen have shown real improvement. At least since Buck Showalter took over as skipper. Baseball is a funny game.
