WEATHER BLOG: Steamy

Hot and muggy weather to continue Saturday through Sunday. Atlantic ridge is building westward with southerly flow to bring the warm, muggy weather. Although overall chance is small with no forcing Saturday, there will probably be a couple of isolated storms that develop Saturday afternoon and linger into the evening, much like Friday. For the rest of the evening, some low clouds and patchy fog may fill in for a time in the warm and muggy air.

Some models have been hinting that there could be a shower or thunderstorm in parts of the area overnight, but main chance is Saturday evening. There may be shower or thunderstorm in a few spots Sunday. However, we feel the majority of Sunday will be rain-free, at least through 5 p.m.,  with a gusty south to southwest wind picking up ahead of the approaching front. This front has a lot of wind energy and will no doubt produce some strong wind gusts and perhaps even severe weather with damaging winds late Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.

We will also have some downpours with these lines or bands of storms that move through late Sunday afternoon and night.
