WEATHER BLOG: Here It Comes

Hi Everyone.

Here it comes! No not the snow but rather another beautiful Winter afternoon. Temps under SUNNY skies will get  into the upper 30's today. Perfect to get out, and get it together  to hunker down and watch it snow.

We are going to see some intense weather over the next few days. You will hear the word Blizzard, potentially, a lot. It is not a word thrown about lightly by the folks at the Weather Service. Conditions have to fit a very tight boundary. This from our partners at Accu-Weather; "Officially the National Weather Service defines a Blizzard as a storm which contains large amounts of snow OR blowing snow with winds in excess of 35 mph and visibilities of 1/4 mile for an extended period of time. (At least 3 hours.) When these conditions are expected the National Weather service will issue a 'Blizzard Warning.''

And that is expected. And there is what the big rub  with this storm is. It, as I previously wrote, is going to be INTENSE. To that end stay tuned, and stay alert.  As Mike Schu so accurately said this AM you have been forewarned the responwsibility is now on you.

As for us I do not know one person in this building who is looking forward to having to get out in this storm, and then, eventually, safely get home. But this is what we do, as do many others..Nurses, Fire, Police, Highway workers, and more…..  We are keenly aware this is not your average 6 inch snow fall. To us those are, really, no big deal. You need to be aware, and stay aware too.

Good luck.
