Trading Big Ben would be Big Mistake
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger was suspended six games by the NFL yesterday for his off the field actions. That suspension can be reduced to four games if Big Ben complies with what Roger Goodell has put in front of him between now and the start of the season. Word is that the Rooney family is so frustrated with their franchise QB that they've put him on the trading block, and they're looking for a top 10 big to get him. Big Mistake. To me, this guy is one of the top five QB's in the league. I understand that he is not a great human being, but at the end of the day you pay him to win football games. Something Roethlisberger has been really good at so far. The guy is 28yrs old and he already has two Super Bowl rings. I know the Steelers want to take a moral stand and I respect that, but they're going to take multiple steps backward as a franchise if they trade Big Ben. Franchise QBs don't grow on trees. Ravens fans should rejoice though. Ben Roethlisberger and Santonio Holmes were Raven killers as Steelers. Holmes is now a Jet and Roethlisberger will at the very least miss the first matchup because of a suspension. One team's misery is another team's happiness.
