Tillman optioned to Triple-A

Chris Tillman drew the short stick today when he was optioned back to Triple-A Norfolk after a terrible outing Monday night against the Rays where he allowed eight earned runs over just 2 2/3 innings of work. Tillman's demotion makes room for closer Mike Gonzalez who is expected to return to the Orioles on Wednesday. According to Norfolk reporters, Gonzalez' locker has already been cleaned out and his name plate has been removed.

Kevin  Millwood will end his disabled stint on Thursday and will take the ball against the Minnesota Twins who arrive in Baltimore for a four-game series. Obviously a roster move will need to be made at that time. Matt Wieters will then come off the DL on Sunday and Brian Roberts cold return after the weekend before the O's hit the road.
