The Weave, The Wiz & Iron Men...
Hope you had a chance to hear Earl Weaver on our show today. The Hall of Fame manager is back in town as the Orioles celebrate the 40th anniversary of their 1970 World Series win over the Cincinnati Reds.
If you missed...
the interview check it out on our podcast HERE. Despite being a few weeks from his 80th birthday Earl hasn't lost his passion for the game or his Orioles who are going through the darkest days in franchise history. His take on what the "Orioles way" was is interesting.
The Wiz are going Wall to Wall with the first pick in the NBA draft. John Wall goes from a college program steeped in tradition to an NBA team that has made losing a habit. A teenager shouldn't be expected to save a franchise but Wall and the commitment of the new ownership point the Wizards in a promising direction.
And hail to John Isner and Nichols Mahut, the Cal Ripken and Brett Favre of tennis played a set for the ages. As Jeremy pointed out, the Orioles had a day off and lost 2 games during this match.
