The Norris & Davis Show Best Of - Week Of June 25th

This week's edition of the Norris & Davis Show Best Of includes interviews with Ron Sirak live from the U.S. Open, Maryland Terrapins Head Coach Sasho Cirovski ahead of the USA vs Argentina game, and Ross Grimsley with an Orioles update.

RON SIRAK

Ron started off by talking about where he was on the course while the Dustin Johnson controversy was going on saying "I started out with the final group...when it became clear that Justin had it I bopped over to his group and followed him." As for what he did once the issue of a possible penalty was raised Ron said "when the penalty issue came up I started texting friends of mine who are golf officials and tried to find out what happened."

When asked about why the issue seemed to drag on and the rules surrounding it Ron said "under the rules of golf you assume the honesty of the player...golf has sort of moved away from using high def TV to determine rules violations." Ron talked about who is to blame for the incident saying "you can blame the technical setup of the golf course for that ball moving."

SASHO CIROVSKI

Sasho started out by talking about the chances for USA tonight against Argentina saying "yes we can beat Argentina but it will take a very aggressive near perfect game that will need perfect goal-tending...however, this is a tall task this Argentina team is world class." As for the overwhelming odds the US seem to face tonight Sasho said "we've always played our best soccer when we've been an underdog it's a great place for our team to be, it reminds me of when we beat Spain in the Confederations Cup."

When asked about the suspended players for tonight's game Sasho said "it's a huge loss for them, Jermaine Jones is playing as well as he has played since the World Cup...Bobby Wood is huge because he gives you that counter attacking ability and he has a great work rate up front." Sasho also talked about where this game stands in terms of importance for the nation saying "it's really hard to put into context, I don't buy that this is the biggest game or even among the biggest game in our country's history...it's a very big game, but wouldn't put the hype on it of a World Cup quarterfinal or qualifying game."

ROSS GRIMSLEY

Ross Grimsley started out talking about what happened to Mychal Givens last night, and the bullpen possibly being over used saying "he was right down the middle of the plate...when your starting pitching has struggled the way the O's has you extend your bullpen, when you do that guys are going to start going down." As for whether or not Matt Wieters is being fairly criticized lately for not mixing up pitch calls Ross said "the pitcher has the final say so."

Ross talked about what Ubaldo Jimenez will have to do tonight to be successful against the Padres saying "for him you have to get ahead in the count." As for the criticism of Ubaldo's performances Ross said "for him I don't know why everyone gets up in arms about him, you know what he is you knew what you were getting with him."

Ross also talked about the possibility of Dylan Bundy being moved to the starting rotation and what he would do with Bundy.
