That Was Bad
The Orioles lost to the Rangers tonight 2-0. They got three hits in the game, two from Julio Lugo. The Star of this game was home plate umpire Jeff Nelson. His strike zone was bad to say the least. Nick Markakis was ejected from a game for the first time in his career, and manager Buck Showalter was ejected for the first time as an Oriole. For me, it was the worst called game by a home plate ump since Eric Gregg called seemingly every pitch Livan Hernandez threw a strike in game 5 of the 1997 NLCS between the Braves and Marlins. Hernandez struck out 15 in a Marlins victory.
