Terrell Suggs Receives Ed Block Courage Award
WOODLAWN, Md. (WJZ) -- NFL players from across the country descend on Baltimore, honored for their courage and chosen by their teammates. A Ravens Super Bowl star and a brand new Raven were recognized Monday night.

The two players Baltimore fans are watching are men familiar with service and struggle.
An all-star lineup was at Martin's West in Woodlawn Monday night to honor the NFL players, trainers and others who received an Ed Block Courage Award.
"It's one of those events on the NFL calendar that really has meaning and it's richer than just Baltimore," said Pressbox publisher Stan Charles.
Linebacker Terrell Suggs--who could not attend--received the Ed Block Award on behalf of the Ravens. Defensive end Chris Canty, who just signed with the Ravens, received the award on behalf of his work with the New York Giants.
"It's just an honor and it's a privilege to be here and just to really represent Baltimore fans," Canty said. "It's a great, great city."
Torrey Smith says he was honored to accept the Ed Block Courage Award on behalf of his friend and teammate, Terrell Suggs. He says Suggs' story is one of service and perseverance.
"The major thing would be fighting back from that injury. It's a tough one, especially at his position. It's all about being explosive and messing up your Achilles does that," Smith said.
Ed Block was the loved and respected trainer with the Baltimore Colts. In addition to his work with players, he was tireless in his efforts to stop the abuse of children.
"I want to thank so many of the NFL players who raise awareness and prevention of child abuse," said Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
This was the 35th annual Ed Block Courage Awards ceremony.
