Student Arrested After Giving Teacher Pot Brownie
ARNOLD (WJZ) -- An Anne Arundel County high school student was arrested after he admitted to giving his teacher a pot brownie.
Anne Arundel County police are investigating a CDS violation at Broadneck High School where an ambulance was called just before 1 p.m. Monday after a teacher said she was feeling ill and acting disoriented.
The teacher was brought to the nurse's office by a another teacher after she looked ill. That teacher told the School Resource officer that the victim wasn't acting normal in the teacher planning room and that the victim told her that a student gave her a brownie during third period and she thought it may have marijuana in it.
The 17-year-old male student from Arnold and his 16-year-old girlfriend, who was also acting lethargic, were examined and found to be okay.
However, the students were taken to the office, where the teen admitted that he gave the teacher and his girlfriend the brownie and confirmed it contained marijuana, according to police.
He admitted he was scared and panicked when the teacher asked for a piece of the brownie, so he didn't tell her it had pot in it.
The teacher was treated and released at a local hospital and police don't believe anyone else had contact with the laced brownies.
The teen was charged with CDS administer marijuana, CDS distribution, Assault 2nd degree and reckless endangerment on juvenile citations. He was released to a guardian.
