Somerset Co. Probes Deletion Of Computer Files
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -- Officials in Somerset County are investigating the deletion of computer files in the State's
Attorney's Office.
The issue was found Jan. 3, just after State's Attorney Dan Powell was sworn in. Powell said staff members noticed the files were missing when they returned to the office.
The county's computer systems specialists were called in, who ran a program to recover the deleted files. Some files were not readable. Most were forms used by the office; Powell said he got copies e-mailed to him from another county.
The files had not been deleted as of late Dec. 30, when the office closed for the holiday weekend.
