Snow Woes Bring Out The Best In Western Md. Man
KNOXVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A western Maryland man says there was a bit of karma in his decision to give water and M&Ms to dozens of motorists stranded for hours in a snowstorm.
Kevin Writt of Knoxville says a state snowplow driver had helped him out when he got stuck earlier Wednesday.
So when he got home and saw motorists backed up on nearby U.S. 340, he took action to ease their misery.
Writt says he distributed at least 50 bottles of water and 40 packs of M&Ms from a gift shop at the nearby River & Trails Outfitter company.
Writt works as a guide for River & Trails and lives on the company's property on the Maryland side of the Potomac River.
