Senate GOP Caucus Votes To Oppose Same-Sex Union
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Senate Republican Caucus has voted to oppose same-sex marriage legislation in Maryland.
The caucus voted Tuesday to oppose the Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Protection Act.
Sen. Nancy Jacobs, the Senate minority leader, said in statement that the caucus expects extensive debate on the bill.
E.J. Pipkin, the Republican minority whip, says Senate Republican members felt the position best represented the views of their constituents.
