The Cowboys were 42-0 when they had a 20 point lead at the half, then Green Bay erased a 26-3 Dallas lead and beat the Cowboys 37-36. Sure Tony Romo threw 2 late picks but how 'bout a Dallas defense that gave up 5 touchdowns the first 5 times Green Bay had the ball in the second half. Those TD drives by yards were 80, 80, 22, 80 and 50. Ouch!

A.J. McCarron received The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in Baltimore on December 13th. He also became the first Alabama player to win the Maxwell Award and was runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. His final game for Alabama will be the Sugar Bowl (Jan 2), a win against Oklahoma will gave him a 37-3 record, an Auburn field goal return denied him a chance for a 4th National Championship.

Towson Jr. running back Terrence West (Northwestern H.S. Baltimore) will add to his stunning season Saturday when Towson plays at Eastern Washington in the FCS Semi-finals. West leads the nation with 2,295 rushing yards and 39 touchdowns this season. Last week he set an NCAA FCS playoff record with 354 rushing yards and 5 TD's in a win at Eastern Illinois. A Towson win Saturday will send them to the NCAA FCS championship game on January 4 in Plano, Texas.

The NFL's longest game was played on Christmas day in 1971. The Chiefs and Dolphins played and extra 22 minutes and 40 seconds. Chiefs RB Ed Podolak had 350 combined yards in the Christmas loss. The Dolphins then beat the Baltimore Colts for the AFC Championship but lost to the Cowboys in Super Bowl VI.
