Ravens Mini-Camp: Day 2

It was just jerseys, shorts and helmets - no pads, no hitting, but it was still great to watch some football today.  This big news today was 6th round pick Ramon Harewood was carted off the field!  Looked like a knee injury.

Day 2 of Mini-Camp and the excitement is brewing.  The players really looked like they were having fun - intense fun!  The Ravens are going to be monsters this season if Day 2 of no-hit mini-camp is any indication.  The experienced veterans had as good of performances today as any coach or Ravens exec can remember ever seeing.  And, the young guys?  Most of them are soaking it up like sponges.

Rookie Terrence Cody noted that the speed is a lot faster but that the vets, on both sides of the ball, are helping with a lot of info and tips.  He and C Matt Birk had some good battles in one-on-one drills.

The defense is really focusing on the pass-rush this year.  And it showed.  All the QB's were constantly on the move.

Ozzy took a few moments to enjoy the sun and gaze at his new aresenal from the patio.  He was all smiles.  Content with all of his off season efforts.

It's in the coaches and players hands now.  Coach Cameron loved the competitiveness of the new reciever core and his flexibility of expanding the packages.  Like I said, 'arsenal' is the word that keeps coming to mind.  Coach noted it is still very early and that 'lots of reps are still to come.'  He warned the guys 'not to get fooled by the lack of contact.'

Several coaches said that it is a matter of the players, new and seasoned, getting comfy with one another.  From what I saw today, this team is happy, ready and 'comfy' ain't too far away.
