Racism in baseball?

Orlando Hudson (Twins second baseman) said that Jermaine Dye couldn't get a job because of ...you know .  He never steps over the line and actually says it's racism but makes it painfully obvious that's what he's talking about.  He also mentions "first ballot Hall of Famer" Gary Sheffield in the conversation as someone who is being ignored.

Really????  He neglects to mention that Dye was offered a $3 million dollar contract by the Nats.  Oh yeah the Cubs were interested too.  The problem is that Dye made 11.5 Million last year and feels this pay cut is because of skin color not the fact he's 36 and slumped badly the second half of last season.  And "first ballot Hall of Famer" Gary Sheffield is 42 !!!!!!!!!  That's why he's a Hall of Famer his career is pretty much over.Can anyone ever be denied a job or be disciplined at work without it being racial of gender based?  Sometimes you're not qualified ....period. We have a country that hands out jobs to candidates that are woefully unqualified because of race and sex in the public sector to meet political wishes.  We reduce standards to raise the quota of women and minorities in the ranks of police and fire departments and put the public at risk while doing it. Not to mention the fact it tarnishes the reputation of the very qualified women and minority candidates who are treated poorly because their co-workers assume they were given handouts even if they are highly qualified.Please stop throwing the race/gender card every time something doesn't go your way. Racism certainly exists in America as does sexism but for the sake of all of us stop over using it because it diminishes the pain of all who have suffered true discrimination in their lives.  And finally, please stop whining that you're only going to get $3 million bucks to people who commute to soul crushing jobs every day so they can afford to take their kids watch you play a game while they pay your salary with their ticket purchase.   Pussies
