R.I.P. Ted in Essex
You never like to lose anyone in life. Our station,105.7 The Fan just lost a member of our radio family. Ted in Essex passed away after a motorcycle accident. I met him once, but even if i hadn't, he was a part of my life at least 5 days a week. He pushed my buttons more than any other caller, but i loved every second of it. I will really miss you and your calls. I dont know how the other hosts feel, but i feel like i lost someone close to me. I talked to Ted more than i talk to my own mother and father. So for you Ted... May Chris Johnson get all the money he wants, May Dez Bryant be the greatest draft pick in the history of the league, and may Kevin Kolb Have an awful year this season so you could win your bet with me, and most of all may you rest in peace. Here is an email i received that i thought was wonderful....
Scott/Jeremy,
I'm writing this to you guys, because Ted in Essex called in to your show the most. As a daily listener to all of the shows at 105.7 The Fan, I just wanted to extend my condolences to the family of Ted in Essex. I was listening to Kenny's show tonight when he announced that Ted was killed in a motorcycle accident.
Ted really pushed a lot of buttons with all of you guys at 105.7 The Fan. I always listened to him intently, because he was such a passionate and confident person when it came to expressing his feelings about everything involving any sport. I'm an old school guy, and there aren't many strong guys around anymore. That's what I liked about Ted. He stuck to his convictions, right or wrong. He wasn't intimidated by anyone.
Ted was a true fan of sports, which is what you guys are all about. As all of you know, Baltimore fans are special. We Baltimoreans fight amongst ourselves sometimes over sports, but we all want the same thing -- we want to win here in Baltimore, and we feel sick when we lose. Ted was a winner, just like the rest of us who are as passionate about life as he was. Sports matters, and so did Ted.
God bless you Ted. May you rest in peace. You did a good job! You had game! You were a winner!
