Power Return Ignites Fire From Hot Iron In Md.

KNOXVILLE, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says the restoration of electricity to a Washington County home did more harm than good.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown newspaper reports that an iron left plugged in when the power went out Friday ignited a fire after power was restored Saturday.

Investigators say the fire caused $31,000 worth of damage to the two-story home and its contents.
