Police Say 3 Injured In Bus-Pickup Crash On I-70

MYERSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a pickup truck overturned after the trailer it was towing was struck by a charter bus attempting to pass along eastbound Interstate 70, leaving three people injured.

Police say in statement the driver of the bus carrying about 60 passengers misjudged the distance between the two vehicles, struck the rear of the trailer carrying hay and caused the Ford F-250 with two people aboard to overturn about 4:40 a.m. Saturday.

Two bus passengers suffered minor injuries and the pickup truck's driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. All three were taken to a hospital.

The bus driver has been charged with negligent driving and following too closely.

All eastbound lanes of I-70 near Myersville remained closed early Saturday morning pending cleanup of the crash site.
