Police Investigating Threatening Tweet Made Toward La Plata Residents

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Authorities in Charles County say they are investigating  a threat made against residents in La Plata, Maryland.

Police are working to confirm the credibility of a threat posted on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

The tweet reads, "IM NOT GONNA STAND FOR THIS NO. MORE. TONIGHT WE PURGE! KILL ALL THE WHITE PPL IN THE TOWN OF LAPLATA #BlackLivesMatter."

The tweet appears to have been posted by an account with the handel @_TRVPCOCAINE

Police say multiple agencies are investigating the threat.
