Airman From Md. Killed In Afghanistan
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. Department of Defense says a 24-year-old airman from Peterson Air Force Base has died in Afghanistan.
Defense Department officials said Saturday that Airman 1st Class Matthew R. Seidler, of Westminster, Md., died Thursday when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle in the Helmand province of Afghanistan. Two other airmen died in the attack.
Seidler was assigned to the 21st Civil Engineer Squadron at Peterson.
