Perez's Picks Week 2

I may be a little late to the party as I didn't give my picks last week, but I guess I got caught up in that whole "first week of the season" stuff. A week after returning from Houston, with the sting of a tough loss, I'll give my week 2 predictions. I'll make it a little easier and just give pure winners. Not against the spread, as I want to keep my picks strictly on the field and off of a Las Vegas Bingo Board.......

 Buffalo @ Green Bay

Green Bay wins here in blowout fashion. Aaron Rodgers didn't play as well as expected in their week 1 game against the Eagles but shows up big here. Green Bay Packers win

 Miami @ Minnesota

Miami got a good division road win last week in Buffalo, but will need a great performance to leave Minnesota 2-0. Minnesota will struggle to move the ball in the air but AD will simply be too much for Miami's defense. Minnesota Vikings win

 Kansas City @ Cleveland

I picked the Kansas City Chiefs to win on Monday night against the Chargers and I'll pick them again here. Jake Delhomme wont't be healthy enough to play and with Seneca Wallace behind center, that Cheifs defense will be too much to handle. Even if Jake plays, the outcome will be the same. Kansas City Chiefs win

 Chicago @ Dallas

The Dallas Cowboys, a Super Bowl pick before the season started, have been a disappointment up until now but will look to rebound against a Chicago Bear team who barely got a home victory against the Detroit Lions. Dallas Cowboys win

 Arizona @ Atlanta

The Arizona Cardinals barely left St. Louis with a W, and with Early Doucet out for the next 4-6 weeks, they'll be sure to struggle these next few weeks. The Atlanta Falcons almost became the first team to leave Pittsburgh the winner after a Pittsburgh Steelers home opener and return home with a hurtful overtime loss. Atlanta Falcons win

 Tamba Bay @ Carolina

Tamba Bay was able to overcome a 14-3 deficit in the 4th quarter to beat the Cleveland Browns last week and on the contrary the Carolina Panthers wasn't able to take advantage of a New York Giants team who continuously turned the ball over. Matt Moore will most likely play, but won't be the reason the Panthers leave 1-1. Carolina will be able to run the ball. Carolina Panthers win

 Philadelphia @ Detroit

Michael Vick will get his first start since being convicted of killing innocent animals but on the football field, he is still a threat to move the ball. With Matthew Stafford out for the next month or so, the Lions will really struggle to put points on the board. Philadelphia Eagles win

 Baltimore @ Cincinnati

The Baltimore Ravens played well on Monday Night but, with the inexperience of Mark Sanchez, were not tested through the air. Their weakness may very well be in the secondary and after getting beat up and down the field last Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals are really looking to build some momentum. Cincinnati Bengals win

 Pittsburgh @ Tennessee

The presence of Ben Roethlisberger would have made this game a lot harder to pick, but with Dennis Dixon taking the snaps, I don't see this being much of a game. Vince Young will play well and Chris Johnson will tie Barry Sanders record of straight 100 yard games with 13. Tennessee Titans win

 Seattle @ Denver

The Seattle Seahawks surprised many with their victory over the division favorite 49ers but won't repeat that performance in Denver. This is a difficult game to pick as I do think Seattle has a shot to win but I'll give the Broncos the benefit of the doubt because, as was the case last week for the Seahawks, this is their home opener. Denver Broncos win

 St. Louis @ Oakland

The St. Louis Rams gave themselves a chance to win last Sunday against the reigning division champions Arizona Cardinals while the Oakland Raiders looked terrible in Tennessee. I look for the Oakland Raiders to play a lot better here and for Sam Bradford to turn the ball over in the hostile Oakland environment. Oakland Raiders win

 Houston @ Washington

Last week as I left Reliant stadium, you'd think the Houston Texans won the Super Bowl as Texans fans were excited beyond belief. Regardless of national perspective, last weeks performance was very predictable as that team were as invested in that game as their fan base. Indy on the other hand approached it as if it was the first game of the season and not the last. Houston, though a very good team are in a perfect spot to have the "let down game". Washington Redskins win

New England @ New York Jets

The New England Patriots embarrassed the trendy pick Cincinnati Bengals last week to the surprise of many. Their quarterback is Tom Brady so I don't see where the shock makes its way into this conversation. The New York Jets, on the other hand, lost a heartbreaker to the Baltimore Ravens, but return home to refocus on a very important divisional game, as next week they make their way down to Miami. New York Jets win

 Jacksonville @ San Diego

San Diego moved the ball very well last week in Kansas City, and if it weren't for a handful of big plays, they'd be playing for an 0-2 start. Long road trip for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who I don't have much faith in anyway. San Diego Chargers win

New York Giants @ Indianapolis

Indianapolis Colts Win

 New Orleans @ 49ers

The Monday Night game features a 2010 favorite and a 2009 Super Bowl champ, as weird as that may sound. I didn't think the Saints would win last week, and if the Vikings had any type of offensive consistency they would not have won that game. Problem there is that the Vikings DID NOT have any type of offensive consistency, thus the Saints entering this game 1-0. 49ers head coach Mike Singletary thanked the Seattle Seahawks for beating his team, but this week will be thanking his team for winning a football game. San Francisco 49ers win
