Patterson replaces Reimold

Well the Baltimore Orioles made another change to their lineup which caused an unfortunate roster move for left fielder Nolan Reimold, who was demoted to Triple-A Norfolk. In return, the Orioles promoted Corey Patterson who can hopefully, according to Dave Trembley, give the offense some spark.

Trembley and Andy McPhail gave Reimold the news and Trembley said he met with Reimold privately shortly after. The manager said Reimold took the news as anyone would upon hearing they were demoted but the move was as good for player as much as it was for the ballclub.

Patterson arrived to Camden Yards around 5:30pm and was in left field and batting leadoff about two hours later. Patterson said the past few months have been a rollercoaster for him but he feels he's a much better player mentally at this point in his career. He also said although he hasn't been  paying attention to what's been going on with the Orioles offense, as long as he sticks to his strengths, has the right attitude and focus and stays prepared, he will help the ballclub.
