Parisi Speed School Blog 1....

So as most of you know of begun my journey to get back in shape. I started with dieting but i wanted so much more. I'm one of those weekend warriors who plays football and basketball year round. I felt like i let myself go. I didn't have the edge i that i had before and my skills have diminished from where i want them to be. So i have hooked up with Lifebridge Health and their Parisi Speed School.

With Parisi I'm experiencing what some High School and College athletes are going through to try and advance to the next level. I must admit it was a big culture shock to me during my first class. I'm a proud individual, so when i was told i wouldn't make it through warm-ups, I laughed it off. To make a long story short, I made it through warm ups in 45 minutes but it typically takes 20 mins to go through. I was absolutely spent. We worked on a bunch of different exercises that focused on creating Top Speed, Acceleration, Change of Direction and Overall Strength. I was tested after warm ups on my 10 and 20 yard runs. I was also Tested in my Broad Jump, Vertical Leap and in my 5-10-5(which is essentially the shuttle run that college players do at the combine).

Here are my results....

Day 1 Day2

10 YRD 1.79 1.69
20 YRD 3.34 3.14
Vertical 18 IN -----
5-hop ------- 32' 8 IN this is 5 broad jumps in a row.
5/10/5 5.46 5.19

I'm going to keep at it and with the help of my trainer Hakeem, i know i will improve on these numbers.
