P.G.'s Police Probe 7th Killing This Year
SEAT PLEASANT, Md. (AP) -- Police say there have been seven homicides in Prince George's County in the first six days of the new year.
The most recent slaying was discovered shortly before noon Thursday in the Seat Pleasant area. Police say officers got a report of a shooting and found a man with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
Sgt. Michelle Reedy, a police spokeswoman, says a suspect was arrested not far from the scene. The man hasn't been identified because he hasn't been formally charged.
Reedy says the most recent slaying does not appear to be related to any of the other 2011 homicides. Police have said two of the killings appear to be related and that the crimes don't appear to be random acts of violence.
