O's notes from New York

It looked like the rain was going to wash away today's game... but the sun is out and Brian Matusz is already on the mound. The left-hander has retired five of the first six Yankees and is looking for his third win of the year.

Here are some pregame news and notes:

- According to Dave Trembley, Brian Roberts is doing very well and is down in Sarasota taking live BP and fielding ground balls.  He will stay in extended spring and play in a game on June 4th. Trembley will have a future schedule for the Baltimore media tomorrow.

- Felix Pie is "a ways away" according to Trembley. He will start a throwing program and will gradually begin baseball activities.

- Nick Swisher entered tonight's game 0-for-9 against Brian Matusz and had this to say about Matusz' stuff: "Oh man, he's got my number right now. I don't know why I can't hit him. He's done a good job of mixing the speed of his pitches, moves up and down... pretty impressive for a young kid." Joe Girardi added this, "He had a good outing against us last year and I remember he was really poised. He has the ability to strike people out and he's a very good, young talent."

Matusz is facing Javier Vazquez who is 3-5 with a 6.86 ERA.
